To glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ among all people.OUR PICTURE — What Does a Disciple Look Like?
Disciples value Christ’s worship, so we faithfully GATHER for praise and preaching.
Disciples value Christ’s word, so we diligently GROW by doing life in small groups.
Disciples value Christ’s work, so we sacrificially GIVE of our abilities and resources.
Disciples value Christ’s witness, so we aggressively GO share the gospel with others.
OUR PROCESS — How Do We Do It?
We make disciples by helping people navigate a strategic spiritual growth trail. Using the four points of the compass above as a guide, we intentionally move them from gathering for worship (north) to growing in small groups (south) to giving their abilities and resources (west) and ultimately to going out to tell others about Christ (east). We are committed to communicating this process in understandable ways, arranging all of our ministries and staff around it, and abandoning everything that doesn’t directly contribute to it. We also aggressively seek to multiply worship venues, small groups and ministry and mission teams at various times and places to foster participation. This simple process enables us to be less inhibited by facilities, location and finances, and better positioned to invest all of our energies and resources in disciple-making!
At Riverside the focus of Worship is on God. Therefore you are welcome to come as you are. Some people dress up, others are very casual. We want you to be comfortable so you can connect with God and with others. We highly value God’s Word so we encourage you to bring a Bible if you have one. If not we provide Bibles in the seat backs that you are welcome to use. Most services include a response time for people to make spiritual decisions, come for prayer or to ask questions one on one with a pastor. Our offering time is at the end of each service and is intended for our church family; we don’t expect guests to give. We hope that we are able to be a blessing to you and your family.
